A boat will take you to the national park “Los Haitises”. This is one of the most interesting untouched areas of wet tropical forest in the Caribbean. The tour will take you to the coastal area of the biological reserve, which spans over 200 km² in total.
The coast is lined with an enormous green mangrove belt and over 50 small islands that form a labyrinth of water ways. Over the course of millions of years, the rainfall has washed out caves in which the native inhabitants already sought cover, as stone etchings document. The park is one of the most important sanctuaries form indigenous plants and animals. Caving, bird nesting islands, mangrove forests and much more make this day a memorable one.
