In the moment you hear someone mentioning the Dominican Republic, the first thing that comes to the mind are numerous white sand beaches, calm waters, and palm trees. All an amalgam of elements that make up a paradise.
But what you probably did not know, is that the country offers different types of beaches scattered in different regions throughout the country.
In the North, in the Puerto Plata / Sosua / Cabarete area, the beaches are restless waters, ideal for surfing, windsurfing, and other water sports. They come accompanied by coarse sand or rocky shores.
In the east, the beaches of the Punta Cana areas are well-known all over the world; they feature very fine white sand. The waters are temperate and calm, and just invite to take a dip.
The beaches of Samaná and Cabrera in the Northeast, offer different beaches; each with its own personality and attributes. One of the most recognized beaches is Playa Rincon in Samaná, where the temperate waters of the sea converge with the fresh, sometimes even kind of cold waters from a mountain river. The whole environment is just picturesque.
In the South, the beaches are of thick sands of little stones, some such as Los Patos beach perfect spots for surfing; they are in total contrast to the scenery of Bahía de las Águilas, where visitors find fine sand and calm and totally transparent water.
Definitely the Dominican Republic has a lot to different beaches just waiting for you to be discovered. We invite you to explore each of its stunning beaches!
